The Melodrama of Rising to the Top

Dear loving people,

Nursing an ambition to rise to the top is good, but how you actually rise to the top is even more important. lets take a look at the story of the anus, the rabbit and the turkey...

It was a sunny afternoon, a crow was sitting high-up in a tree, listening to two little birds conversing. One was recounting a story about the body to the other…

When the body was first made, all the parts wanted to be Boss. The brain said, "I should be Boss because I control the whole body's responses and functions." The feet said, "We should be Boss as we carry the brain about and get him to where he wants to go." The Hands said, "We should be the Boss because we do all the work and earn all the money." And so it went on and on with the heart, the lungs and the eyes until finally the anus spoke up. All the parts laughed at the idea of the anus being the Boss. Promptly, the anus went on strike, blocked itself up and refused to work. Within a short time the eyes became crossed, the hands clenched, the feet twitched, the heart and lungs began to panic and the brain fevered. Eventually they all decided that the anus should be the Boss, so the motion was passed. All the other parts did all the work while the Boss just sat and passed out the shit!

“So what should I learn from your story” said the bird to whom the story was told “My friend, the lesson is that you don't need brains to be a Boss - any asshole (anus) will do.” “you are right”, replied the storyteller bird and they flew away.

While the crow was still pondering over what the two little birds discussed, a small pompous rabbit saw the crow, and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing all day long?" The crow not liking the intruder answered: "Sure, why not." So, the rabbit sat on the ground under the tree and rested. All of a sudden, a wondering fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it. The Crow observed the incidence indifferently, smiled to himself and shouted out to whoever was listening; “To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.”

Rest only comes when you’ve worked hard, and have put systems in place such that they function efficiently with or without you. Should you afford to sit all day doing absolutely nothing to improve your finances, be sure that poverty will jump out of nowhere like the fox and have you for lunch.

Not far from the tree, a turkey had been chatting with a bull and heard the crow shouting, he looked at the tree and said to the bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree where the crow is," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy". "Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull "They're packed with nutrients." The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it actually gave him enough strength to reach the first branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fortnight, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree and looking down at the world around him with an air of victory. He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree. The bull on its part still watching, shouted out to whoever was listening “Bullshit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.”

When you fraudulently rise to the top, you will sooner than later fall to the ground like a comet falling to earth. When you rise to the top through your own personal effort, dynamism, dedication and tenacity, you learn the lessons along the way, you get to know the pitfalls, you win people's admiration and your experience give you the springboard to better manage and maintain yourself at the top.
