Today is a Gift! Strive to Be in High Spirits

Dear loving people,

To be in high spirits means to feel the emotion of great happiness or to have a feeling of great elation. At the same time, I agree that it's impossible to be cheerful all the time, we live in such as fast paced world today - some days are harder than others. That is why we need to encourage and inspire each other daily.

In this day and times where as people on the quest for success, you wear several hats at once irrespective of gender, there's much chaos and disorder surrounding your life. So you're wanting to regain some peace, clarity and inspiration at all times.

Sometimes, chauvinistic propensities pushed to extremes make it such that it's simply not possible to hear of inspiring quotes from the people living in your environment. Instead, negativity prevails in the air. People complain and people moan constantly about their lives. And you desperately need to hear of some positive and inspirational messages.

Marian Anderson has this to say “As long as you keep a person down, some part of you has to be down there to hold him down, so it means you cannot soar as you otherwise might.” That is why by helping others grow, you grow equally.

… and so two male patients shared a hospital room, one lay on a bed at the center of the room and the other by the window. Each day when the man by the window had thoroughly described all that was happening outside the window, his roommate would close his eyes and imaged all the beautiful scenes of life that were told to him.

One morning the man, whose bed was near the window, had died peacefully in his sleep. His roommate was very sad. After some time, when the nurse came to visit him, he asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse agreed and kindly made the switch. When she left, the man slowly and painfully propped himself up on one elbow and took the first look at the world outside. He was stunned. The window faced a blank wall.

When the nurse came to visit him the next time, he told her about beautiful things outside the window that his roommate described him. The nurse replied that his roommate was a blind man. She said: “Probably he just tried to encourage you. “

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can’t buy. Today is a gift, that’s why it is called the present.
