Bank On Yourself for Success

Dear Loving People,

There comes a time in your life when you have to make the hard decision to work for your own success. The more convincing such a decision is to yourself, the more you are prepared to work for it.

Taking a frank decision acts upon your system like some sort of self hypnosis. Then you develop a plan on how to get to the winning point, the plan becomes translated into a physical reality because not only are you motivated, but you are equally determined to do what it takes to succeed and by focusing on what you have to do.

unfortunately for many people, no other person can decide about your success on your behalf, it has jut got to be you and you alone. You may have all the advice you need, you might attend all the talk-shops you can find but when it comes to moving ahead with your dream, only you can do that. I talk to people who tell me that they depend on external stimulation in order to perform. They feel better and get moving when people tell them how great they are and that they are doing just fine.

If you really mean to succeed, you must not wait on external stimuli to get the things that you must do done, You have to move on with the right things that you have to do with or without the often short-lived appreciations from the people you come across.

To bank on your self for success means you must primordially three things:
  1. Determine what exactly you want to do. To get to some place, you must know where you are going to. Have a definite objective, a clear purpose for your life. That one thing you want to accomplish as the biggest of your dreams.
  2.  Cutout a plan to achieve you dream. It can be terrible sailing far off into the open sea without a compass, same with dreams. You need a clear plan of action that will take you to your dream. You plan must be feasible and realistic. Don't plan to safe the world while still in your donjon.
  3. Stay Focused. One weakness of a failure personality is changing course on a too frequent basis. You have to stay focused on your goals and not stuffing yourself up with multiple goals all the times without any results.
Focusing on your goal makes you determined to succeed and leaves you self motivated. In all that you do, you must always remember that the responsibility to succeed in life lies in you and nobody else.

You have to do all it takes to achieve your goals if after all you meant business.

Your Success Begins with a Burning Desire

Dear loving people,

Have you known that there is a positive side of DESIRE? In your quest for success, one of the very first ingredients should be and is desire. Do you know what you want out of life? Your desire is the planting of your seed. Your desire for success must be so strong within you that it’s the very breath of your life. It must be your first thought when you wake in the morning, and your last thought when you go to bed at night. That is what I refer to as a ‘burning desire.’

Many times over, people ask me the same question “What is it that makes a man go where others don't dare tread, and that keeps him going even when the odds seem so insurmountable?” My response has always been very simple; a burning DESIRE is what it is. Desire is one of the strongest emotions and one of the greatest forces man has ever known. When harnessed properly it will give you everything you have ever wanted! Desire is the Fuel for success.
A success oriented individual has a burning desire for success that overpowers or crushes his fear of failure completely. There is absolutely no other way to attain the success you really desire without stepping out to take-up the work needed to be done and the risk needed to be embraced.

You must have heard it over and over that where there is a will there is a way, but what you’ve not been told is that the will doesn't exist by itself and of itself. It is fueled by desire. If you have lost your desire for whatever it is you want you have lost the ‘will’ and consequently you chances of ever succeeding.

The desire to succeed must be the other side of any achiever’s coin. Let me tell you now in very strong terms that all success, all achievement that is meaningful, and all success stories you have heard and will ever here, begin with a central element of desire.

Desire in its very nature, clasps people with an insatiable appetite and pulse for action. If you have a burning desire to succeed, nothing can stop you from becoming a winner, a leader, or a high performer.

Desire, like most things is not something you are born with. It is a force and power which can be induced through the senses such as sight, hearing and smell. Let me give you an example.

In my book ‘Akongne-the ramifications of love’ I talk of the chemistry and manifestation of infatuation. When you see a beautiful woman or man, it does something to you. It triggers a power or force that will either die a natural death, or will become a furious fire. That depends on what you do with it from that point onwards. When you desire something, say a good job, it will never happen until you crystallize such a desire into a physical reality, something you can see, hear, smell or touch.

Conclusively, desire alone will not accomplish your dreams; it is just the fuel, your adrenaline. Imagine a plane without wings or turbines, it won't go anywhere. The same goes for someone who only has desire. You must have heard about the 80/20 rule, that 20% of the people in the world have 80% of all riches because 80% of the people in the world only desire things but are not prepared to do what it takes to get what they want and so they have only 20% of desire.

Move faster than the hands of your clock

Dear loving people,

Dreams are wonderful things to have and to hold onto. Dreaming is the first step towards success and fulfillment. Without a dream you can find yourself floating your way through life like a boat with a sleeping captain.

I insist that to achieve the future you want; you must identify what you really want to do and then transform your dream into reality. You can’t afford to just sit around daydreaming about what you want rather, you have to identify it, plan how to achieve it, and then transform your dream into reality. That is the path to the success you want.

Realism has often compelled us to say good-bye to some of our dreams. But optimism tells us that instead of letting go of all of these beautiful and exciting dreams, we can adapt them to circumstances and create more appropriate dreams for our current circumstances. The more optimistic we are the wider we spread the wings of our dreams, the happier we feel and the more we achieve.

Over time, some of us simply close our minds to our dreams, create more obstacles for ourselves by painfully trying to justify why we can’t achieve much,  or surrender to external forces that we could overcome were we optimistic enough and determined. Instead of justifying why you cannot change, you can choose to allow yourself to sit back and recall the wonderful feeling that dreams instill in your life. I often get so ecstatic looking back at my dreams and how far I am going.

There is one secret about the quest for success that you really need to keep permanently at the center of your mind, unless you open your mind to dreams, back them up with action and fine-tune your system to magnet opportunities, they will never be able to find you. This might be what pushed Thomas Edison to say “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”

While there is always time to start anew, never forget that the best time is NOW else, you get caught by Thomas Edison’s words “The thing I lose patience with the most is the clock. Its hands move too fast.”

Why not start today to move faster than the hands of your clock? You have all it takes and every reason to do so.

Success Is Within You! Bring It Out

Dear loving people,

Manifesting your desire is all about turning whatever that is in your mind into a physical reality. What you are essentially trying to do is to bring out the ideas and desires, the wants and dreams into a form that we, as human beings, can identify with and can touch, feel and explore.

The simple truth about your quest for success is that, you have no idea what you can do until you do it. You have no idea of where you can go until you get moving. You have no idea what heights you can reach until you stretch yourself. You have no idea of the lives you can touch until you put out your hand. You have no idea of what is possible until you rule out things being impossible. Success is within you. Bring it out now.

There is a tremendous benefit from setting goals in your life, however great or small those goals might be. You might have the goal of heading the productions department of your present company or your goal might be that you are going to make an effort to be the best wife or husband you can ever be. Fix your mind to it, go for it and get it done because you are self-empowered.

Self-empowerment simply means taking charge of your own life, you and only you decides what is right for you and where you want to go in the future, you make your own decisions and stick with them, not giving in to doubt or fear that you may have made.

Those who make it in life, never listen to the tons of discouraging messages that are sure to come to them especially from those they least expected. But you have to do one thing if you mean to succeed. You just have to bring out the success that is already in you.

Make Use of Your Vision and Resolve

Dear loving people,

Today, I talk to you about a powerful combination of VISION and RESOLUTION.

A VISION is a picture or idea you have in your mind of yourself, your business, or anything this is going to happen. A clear vision helps you pursue dreams and achieve goals; an idea of the future, a strong wish. A vision that is clear will open your mind to the endless possibilities of the future. A vision will help you to overcome obstacles in the way and helps you hold on when times are tough.
RESOLUTION is ‘the act of determining.’ Abraham Lincoln said that your current situation doesn’t matter as much as that YOU DETERMINE that you will succeed. He was saying that no matter who says you can or cannot fail that YOU hold more power than ANY OUTSIDE INFLUENCE as to your own success.

Abraham Lincoln knew from experience what he was talking about. He was born in a one-room log cabin in Kentucky to poor parents. Although being born in poverty and losing his mother at age 9, somehow that didn’t affect his resolve. Did you know that before becoming elected the 16th President of the United States of America, he lost 8 elections? How many of you would lose 8 elections and keep going? Previously in my life, I quit often…sometimes at the first sign of adversity. But Lincoln had a “resolution” to succeed.

Your history books will tell you that the Television was not invented by a single inventor, instead many people working together and alone over the years, contributed to the evolution of television. But guess what? It all started as an idea in the heads of three people whose vision and resolve made it happen in the physical world.

A German engineering student, Paul Nipkow proposed and patented the world's first mechanical television system in 1884. Paul Nipkow devised the notion of dissecting the image and transmitting it sequentially. To do this he designed the first television scanning device. Paul Nipkow was the first person to discover television's scanning principle, in which the light intensities of small portions of an image are successively analyzed and transmitted.

John Logie Baird was perhaps the most remarkable inventor in the early history of television. In a period of scarcely three years from 1924 to 1927, he invented the first successful mechanical-electric television system, infrared television (dubbed "Noctovision"), stereoscopic television, and the earliest means of recording a television signal, Phonovision.

What John Logie Baird did towards the development and promotion of mechanical television in Great Britain, Charles Jenkins did for the advancement of mechanical television in North America. Charles Jenkins, an inventor from Dayton, Ohio, invented a mechanical television system called radiovision and claimed to have transmitted the earliest moving silhouette images on June 14, 1923. Charles Jenkins publicly performed his first television broadcast transmission, from Anacosta, Virginia to Washington in June, 1925.

What linked these three together was their vision and resolve to change humanity. It is these two qualities that make them today to be referred to as the fathers of television.

In the same light, “you are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand”. This is what Woodrow Wilson says and I think he is very correct. You must work at all times to leave the world much better that you ever met them.

James Allen goes further to say “The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.”

James is just more than right, inventions such as the television are ideas acted upon by visionary men and women who had the resolve to push their visions to reality.

When you conceive an idea, it can only become useful if you cut it out and try it in the physical world to have a concrete result.

Living Lectures was once an idea six years ago, its only becoming a reality because I decided in 2011 to transform that well thought out idea into a physical reality. We’ve had an average of 500 people reading our postings monthly; we’ve received a total of 5003 emails and we will be delivering a keynote to an audience of 1500 people in the UK in April 2012.

No matter your ideas now, no matter your present situation, you can transform your ideas into commodities or services that will forever advance the course of humanity if you stick to your vision and resolve to do so.

As you step into 2012 and beyond, let Vision and Resolve be a central part of your guiding principles.
