You Can If You Think You Can.

Dear loving people,

Thomas Jefferson (3rd President of the US) wrote; “Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” Barack Obama confirmed this when he became the 44th and first African-American President of the US. President. Jefferson’s statement is a powerful truth because your thoughts and emotions are the only things that can truly stop you. Likewise, the only things that can help you to do, be and have anything you want in life are also your thoughts and emotions. If you can easily and predictably change your minute-by-minute thoughts to be like those who easily do what you want to do, then you are poised to hit the skies.

Virgil (the ancient Roman poet) says “they can because they think they can.” There is a little voice inside your heard that speaks to you continually. If you can permanently change that little voice, to change how you think, to let go of your often painful past, to release unsupportive emotions that readily grip your internal processes, there will be no limit to how far you can go.

I learned from Euripides (one of the three great tragedians of classical Athens) that “Along with success comes a reputation for wisdom.” Wisdom begins with an open mind and readiness to learn. Without an open mind ready to learn new things:
  • No how-to book will be able to insert in you the motivation to get up after you keep falling down.
  • No lecture or seminar will be able to implant in you an unstoppable determination to do whatever it takes to succeed.
  • No punishment you could endure would guarantee that you'll stop doing what you've done most of your life.
To make life worse for closed-minded people, there is not a single pill in the whole wide world that can alter your behaviors. If at all such existed, the only thing it will be able to do is to drain your bank account dry and leave you no more able to succeed on your own than you were before you got hooked on it.

To be a real achiever, you have to rethink your strategies; you must eliminate the mental patterns that grip you with paralyzing fear and install all the qualities it takes to make a dream life. I am not yet there but guess what? The big news is I am moving on and I will be there soon.

In the words of Amos Bronson Alcott, I strongly think that “success is sweet: the sweeter if long delayed and attained through manifold struggles and defeats.” Are you with me? The right mental attitude will take you places.

Lastly, Owen Feltham sums this up in a beautiful way; “the greatest results in life are usually attained by simple means and the exercise of ordinary qualities. These may for the most part be summed in these two: common-sense and perseverance.”

You can if you think you can.
