Dear
lovely people,
Guess
what? Irrespective of my thinking and doing, it is clear beyond all reasonable
doubt that I am highly favored. God is just doing it every blessed day in my
life. Are you feeling same? Ride on with me…
The
Bible in Luke 1:28-29 talks of Angel Gabriel who came to Mary
and said, "Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!" But she was
greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this
might be. Whether Mary was troubled or not,
the fact is that she was greatly favored period! Do you get my point?
To
be favored simply means you are given special advantages over others,
or preferred over others but, there has to be a solid and objective reason or
precondition why it is so. That precisely is where the trick is.
Mary Kay Ash, a successful American businesswoman said "There are three types of
people in this world: those who make things happen, those who watch things
happen, and those who wonder what happened."
To
test if I had recruited the right project team, I decided to be unavailable at
a crucial moment when we had an emergency situation in the office. Binta was
the last person I talked to before disappearing and I had outlined who was
going to be doing what on the urgent project. So, Binta took command, and
within an hour, everyone on the team had their preliminary tasks mapped out. When
I came back five days later, I was impressed and grateful that Binta took
responsibility to get the project moving. If she hadn't, several valuable days
would have been lost.
Do you make things happen
for yourself, for your team or family like Binta? Or, do you wait for someone
else to tell you what to do? People who have initiative and make things happen
are highly favored by God and wherever they go. Steve Harvey says “God can only
bless you by your faith and your effort.”
People who are favored, proactively and
consistently spot and act on opportunities that their competition have not
noticed. They're
curious about the underpinning dynamics of their dreams, and they keep their
minds open to new ideas and new possibilities. They are always on the lookout
for areas in their lives, dreams and plans that need improvement.
“May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the
work of our hands for us - yes, establish the work of our hands.” Psalm 90:17 (NIV).
