Dear lovely people,
Michael Jackson and AKON wrote
and sang this beautiful soul searching song “Hold
My hand”, here is the first stanza…
…This
life don't last forever (hold my hand)
So tell me what we're waiting for (hold my hand)
We're Better off being together (hold my hand)
Than being miserable alone (hold my hand)
Cause I've been there before
And you've been there before
But together we can be alright.
Cause when it gets dark and when it gets cold
We hold each other till we see the sunlight…
So tell me what we're waiting for (hold my hand)
We're Better off being together (hold my hand)
Than being miserable alone (hold my hand)
Cause I've been there before
And you've been there before
But together we can be alright.
Cause when it gets dark and when it gets cold
We hold each other till we see the sunlight…
How
else can beauty be described? What are we really waiting for than holding hands?
By the way, who is requesting who to ‘hold my hand’? Is it a man talking to a
woman? A woman talking to a man or somebody talking to God? An unknown author said “Holding hands is a promise to one another that, for just a moment,
the two of you don't have to face the world alone.”
Most of
the times, just holding hands makes your spouse or dear one think you love them
as much as they love you. Above all, God in his infinite love calls
on us to hold his hand so that He can gracefully take us there, somehow,
someday, somewhere.
But then,
how do you hold your spouse’s hand when both of you are just two strangers
living together? I can assure you that a relationship
is more than just holding hands while you understand each other. It's also about
having lots of misunderstandings and still not leaving each other's
hands.
How do you hold on to God’s hand
when you reject him through your actions? When your plans are not aligned with
God’s plan for you because you plan without God? We are reassured in Isaiah
41:13 (NIV) “For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says
to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”
And so, no matter your troubles,
no matter your plans for the future, no matter where you find yourself today,
let somebody who has been there and know the pitfalls hold your hand, let God
hold your hand and lead you there.
I end with the first
stanza and refrain of this lovely song “Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand” by
Jennie B. Wilson:
Time is filled with swift transition,
Naught of earth unmoved can stand,
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.
Naught of earth unmoved can stand,
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.
Refrain:
Hold to God’s unchanging hand,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand;
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.
Hold to God’s unchanging hand,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand;
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.
