Dearly
lovely people,
The
Bible in John 4:15 recounts a beautiful conversation between Jesus and a Samaritan
woman.
Jesus
told her “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the
water I give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal
life.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water so that
I will not get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”
When you reach the point where
your self-motivation flows from within like a fountain, rising up to the top
becomes much easier. Unfortunately most of the times, we run into difficulties
in our quest for a better and rewarding life because we allow ourselves to get
confuse between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
Consider for a moment the source
of your motivation to rise to the top, is it from within (intrinsic) or
external? Are you fully engaged in such a quest so the world around you get to
know how powerful you are or much more because you want to satisfy yourself,
you want to live happily and want to safeguard a better future for you and your
family? Many are those who crave success just so they can showoff and be adored
wherever they go.
Ben
Sweetland sensibly says that “The world is full of abundance and
opportunity, but far too many people come to the fountain of life with a sieve
instead of a tank car... a teaspoon instead of a steam shovel. They expect
little and as a result they get little.”
I
join Marcus Aurelius to state unequivocally that you should “look
within. Within is the fountain of good, and it will ever bubble up, if thou
wilt ever dig.”
