Onto The Mountain

Dear lovely people,

Despite the real presence of mountains; often dangerous, hostile and threatening, perhaps the true significance of mountains is in their value as a symbol for achievement. Certainly climbing cliffs and mountains is an excellent model for achieving extremely demanding objectives: requires total physical, intellectual and psychological commitment–and can yield the greatest rewards. Reaching the summit, usually means standing on the top of the world with an ocean of white-capped peaks on every side and the clouds at your feet.

So Ernest and Ernestine left that morning for the mountain beaming with energy, expectation and desire to take a look at their little town from the mountain top. Ernest has so talked about the exquisite view from the top that Ernestine was ready to brave all the odds on the way to get to the top.

It was going to be a long, winding and slippery walk through a dense forest that stretched to the foot of the mountain before starting the actually rugged climb. They had just crossed the forest half-way when Ernestine, already feeling jittery looked around at the undergrowth and began to lament: “and where is the beautiful scenery, the breathtaking views which you were talking about all the time?”

Ernest smiled and answered: “you’re still in the center of it my dear, you will be convinced by the time we reach the top of the mountain and before we go far, let me tell you an important truth about climbing, it just like facing any other objective in life. You have to think differently from the masses.

There are many preconceived ideas that sometimes limit our performance and need to be challenged. You see, we are less than halfway gone into our journey and you already want to get the results, things don’t always operate that way. There is room for being innovative, looking for your own routes, alternative routes, or other ways to solve difficulties during an activity, ascent or descent. A small walk out of the way maybe scary, but if you make it to be something special about you that other people don’t have, that makes you different from the others.
