Dear lovely people,
Businessdictionary.com defines an idea as “a
thought or collection of thoughts that generate in the mind. An idea is usually
generated with intent, but can also be created unintentionally…”
Beautiful. I think that an idea is simply a basic and
indispensable technique to understand ourselves, our society, and the world in
which we live.” Are you with me? If not, hear what the philosophers
have to say according to Wikipedia “…ideas
are usually construed as mental representational images of some object. Ideas
can also be abstract concepts that do not present as mental images... A new or
original idea can often lead to innovation.”
Every single great invention in
the world today was once an idea in somebody’s head for example, the mass
production of books and the rapid dissemination of knowledge throughout the
world will not be possible today if Johannes Gutenberg did not transform his
idea of a printing press into a physical reality.
Most of the times, an idea is not
enough, you need a great idea to turn the tides. The big question is: what
is a great idea? Well, for you to conclude that you have a great idea,
you have try it out. To do this, you must be action-oriented, you must be somebody who gets things
done and accomplish results. Therefore, the question you should consistently ask
yourself is: What is the correct sequence of steps to take? And of course, before
diving into action, you must have a feasible plan.
There
are those who think that just because their idea sounds great in the ear is enough
reason to jump into action. Wrong. What I term a great idea is one that is potentially transformative
and fundamental to the inherent greatness of your fondest dream. It must
be an idea that is the underpinning of your main motivation for success and one
that taps from an infinite reservoir of passion within you.
Your
great idea must propel you to aspire to be more. Your
vision of yourself isn’t big enough. Your capacity far exceeds any limits that
you perceive. You are capable of being and doing more. You only begin to
stretch yourself when your vision grows big enough and underlined by a great
idea. Once you believe that you have a great idea and that you can be more, you
will become even more.
