The Playwright That You Are

Dear lovely people,

I have solid reasons to think that the world is one giant stage on which its people are actors. We are all playing different roles on that stage and let me tell you why: The mindsets of people and what they believe about themselves, about their life and what they deserve, are the key features in the creation of their life script and that’s what you see as a physical demonstration of their present reality.

Why is it that we all have dreams, make plans, work on them but succeed differently? Simple, you dreams, plans, attitude to work and the rest of it fit into the script you have written for your life’s drama and so it was badly written, you don’t have the desired returns on your dreams.

Now, did you know that the script of your life drama is made up of your fixed beliefs? Drphil.com confirms this when he says that “Our fixed beliefs define the roles we play in life and have a lot to do with the scripts that are running them. Just as actors follow a play's script for lines, actions and attitude, we follow life scripts according to what our fixed beliefs tell us. Are you telling yourself that you are a tragic character or heroic character? Are you playing the loving mother, abusive husband, frustrated artist or successful businessman?

As assertive as I am, I know I am a heroic character and what about you? Here is where the problem lies People consciously or unconscious don't want their lives fixed. Oh yes! Just a few people really want their problems solved you can name them; their life dramas, mediocrities, distractions, and yes, you heard me right, they don’t want their stories resolved or their messes cleaned up. The main reason being that they would be left with nothing order than just the big terrifying unknown.

The good news is, while it takes a playwright, stage director, actors, etc. to complete a drama experience, you are an all-in-one. You are the Playwright and Director of your life drama so whatever you want it to be, you have all it takes to make it happen. Just edit the script or rewrite the entire story to your taste.

From birth till death, we create stories about our lives, what it has been and what it will be. This starts in childhood where we weave our perceptions of ourselves and of the world around us into a narrative about what we can and will do. These life scripts then continue to have a deep and unconscious effect on how we live our lives. They affect the decision we make. They control what we think we could easily do and could never do. They shape our self-image.

If you are serious about making it big in life, don’t wait-in-the-wings of your own life drama, don’t wait to be invited on-stage. Playing-safe by only doing the backstage duties rather than taking the risk of being center-stage will never get you anywhere near your dreams. It’s time to find out exactly what your own limiting beliefs are – and more importantly to change them for the better. Rewrite your life’s script.
